Reflecting on GrandsX and the start of 2027

Thank you to all our participants!

Grand Nationals 10 is in the books. And just like our racers sometimes need a day or two to decompress after a long weekend, it takes us a few days to really be able to look back and reflect on the weekend as a whole.

The Grands was imagined with one simple question. Can we put an event together that features the best 4-cycle racers in North America all in one place at the same time; and can we have them compete together at such a high level and maintaining the atmosphere that is the cornerstone of what we all built CKNA on. For Grand Nationals 10, I can confidently say that we achieved those goals.

The level of competition was the highest I believe we have ever had. Scrolling through photos and videos online, the number of drivers that had an opportunity to win is nothing short of amazing. Not only because of the level of talent that descended on NCMP this year, but also because of the parity that the 206 engine provides. It is truly unique in our sport to see such close racing and tight packs in races like these.

But to me, the best part is the comradery I witnessed all around the facility this past weekend. I saw racers who finished well consoling people who had a tough race. Parents hugging their kids to celebrate their accomplishments regardless of where they finished. Drivers who went out early in the final who went out of their way to congratulate the winners even though they felt it could have been them. In a sport that has such a highly competitive atmosphere, it is a great reflection of what karting is all about.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of things we can improve for next year. And thanks to the incredibly dedicated staff that makes CKNA work, those changes are already being discussed. Even though some of these people worked 18+ hour days this past weekend, we are already discussing the areas we need to improve for next year. But whatever changes we decide to make moving forward, it will always be made in the mindset of trying to do the best we can for our racers on and off the track. For CKNA, success is not about being the best but constantly striving to be even better the next time.

Speaking of next time, we know there have been a lot of questions regarding the release of our 2027 schedule. As we mentioned during some of the awards presentations and drivers meetings, those announcements will officially begin by the start of November. But as the temperature begins to drop and we all start thinking about snow… winter is fast approaching. So here is your first event announcement for the 2027 season:

The CKNA Winter Nationals will return to the 103rd St Sports Complex in Jacksonville Florida January 1st – 3rd, 2027. Registration for that event will open in a few short weeks.

Thank you again to our staff, racers and sponsors. We are truly grateful to every one of you.
