Race 3 announcement! Our schedule is now complete!

After gutting our schedule due to the Corona Virus, our revised announcement only set 3 dates for the 2020 Champions Cup season. As we had always said, we felt strongly that we needed a minimum of 4 races to continue to allow racers drops in the Championship Standings. This meant we needed to find a 4th race to squeeze into 2020.

Admittedly, we were concerned it wouldn’t fit into the available weekends remaining in 2020. We have always done our best to work with other Midwest series and events to ensure racers wouldn’t have to choose between us and another race. We have also strove to allow enough off weekends between events to allow people time to recover from a long race weekend. The Corona Virus pandemic has forced all of us promoters to make some tough decisions.

So before we went against any of our usual scheduling practices, we wanted to talk face to face (6 feet away of course) with our racers to see how they wanted us to proceed. Resoundingly, they told us to get it scheduled, and they would be there!

So then the task became where to race. As much as we wanted to reschedule one of the three tracks we were forced to skip in 2020, there were no guarantees that local restrictions would be lifted in time for us to hold a large scale event. So we started calling other facilities we had used before and knew the logistics for. Thankfully, the folks at Michiana Raceway Park had one of the weekends available that we could make work for the majority of our staff.

So here’s the official announcement:

Race 3 of the 2020 CKNA Champions Cup Points Series will be at Michiana Raceway Park on July 24th – 26th!

We are excited to be bringing the series back to a track that hosted one of the largest Divisional races in CKNA history. It’s well located for the majority of our regular racers, and is an excellent track for 4-cycle racing!

Registration for the MRP event will be opening soon. CKNA will be handling pit reservations for this event, which we will begin taking once registration opens.

Thank you to all of our racers for their patience and understanding while we worked through these unprecedented circumstances. It means a lot that everybody has been so accommodating while we get this all figured out!
