Registration for Winter Nationals is OPEN!
2021 was such an awesome year for CKNA, that we just had to squeeze one more race in! This New Years Eve, come join us for our first ever Winter National at 103rd Street Sports Complex in sunny Jacksonville FL! Not only is this one of the National races planned for this season, but it will also serve as the first points race for the Cup Karts South Division. The track in Jacksonville has been apart of the fabric of 4-cycle karting for many years, and we couldn’t think of a better place to hold our first ever December (and January) race! The event will follow a very similar format to that of the Spring Nationals earlier this year. Friday […]
CKNA Rules update: v21.1 has been published
From time to time, we feel it necessary to update or clarify our rules to better serve our racers. After completing 4 events so far in 2021, a few minor tweaks have been made. Although we highly recommend you download yourself a fresh copy of v21.1, there is really nothing major changed. Here are the highlights, along with brief explanations of why we felt this was necessary: Practice grid starting positions may be determined by race officials: At our last event at CHMS, we saw competitors lining up nearly 30 min early for practice. Now there’s nothing “wrong” with that, but we just don;t like the idea of people feeling that it is necessary. Therefor, classes that we feel it […]
Tire Rule Clarifications
It seems there has been some confusion brought to light lately regarding CKNA’s rules for Tires at the Divisional and National Level. Rather than quote passages from our rulebook, we’ll lay it out here! Cup Karts South & North Divisions Slick tires will be Vega VAH, and Rain Tires can be either Vega w5 or 56 compounds. No other tires will be permitted in any session throughout the entire weekend. You do not need to qualify on new tires. Many of our racers choose to get multiple racedays out of the Vega tire because it performs well even after multiple heat cycles. IT IS YOUR CHOICE! We only stipulate that the tires that are on for qualifying must also be […]
AEM Karting joins CKNA
2020 was a great year of competition at Cup Karts North. The series saw countless new faces join the fray, many of which saw great success in just their first CKNA campaign. One driver who achieved an unprecedented result in becoming the first driver in CKNA history to win two championships in the same season was Mick Gabriel; 2020’s Cup Karts North Senior Light and Senior Medium Champion. Mick, along with his father Mike are moving forward from being top-level privateers to creating a top-level race team, race school and arrive-and-drive program with best-in-class equipment, instruction and technology. Along with Partner Chris Surdenik, they have formed AEM Karting. AEM is offering a multitude of services to karters in 2021, ranging […]
EK Chain Returns to CKNA in 2021

Their support has helped us create the most competitive 4-cycle racing series in the Midwest! We are pleased to announce that EK Chains will continue their support as a Presenting Sponsor for what we are now calling Cup Karts North. It doesn’t stop there. When EK Chains heard we we’re launching Cup Karts South, they immediately contacted us to ask how they could help us accelerate the program and get Cup Karts South on the fast track to being the premiere 4 cycle series in that region.Within no time, the decision […]

2021 CKNA Class Structure
The time has come for the transition towards CIK only… After the dust settles each season , we take a deep dive into the data from each of our events as well as events from the surrounding areas. We look for trends in each individual class as well as the multiple areas we draw from to help us decide if we need to adjust anything for the upcoming season. As much as we want to minimize changes for our racers from year to year, we need to make sure that CKNA’s rules are structured in a way to foster our continued growth while still maintaining a fair AND competitive environment. What we learned this off season was a something that […]
Introducing: Cup Karts South!
Today is a monumental day for Cup Karts North America. We are pleased to announce an all new divisional racing series, focusing on the Southeast portion of the country! Those seven years have seen many refinements along the way to better the series including race formats, rules and personnel. Throughout all the changes, our commitment to putting racers first has been the guiding principle that has propelled our growth while still maintaining our fair and family friendly environment. It is no secret that we have looked at expanding into other markets in […]
