2020 was a great year of competition at Cup Karts North. The series saw countless new faces join the fray, many of which saw great success in just their first CKNA campaign. One driver who achieved an unprecedented result in becoming the first driver in CKNA history to win two championships in the same season was Mick Gabriel; 2020’s Cup Karts North Senior Light and Senior Medium Champion.
Mick, along with his father Mike are moving forward from being top-level privateers to creating a top-level race team, race school and arrive-and-drive program with best-in-class equipment, instruction and technology. Along with Partner Chris Surdenik, they have formed AEM Karting.
AEM is offering a multitude of services to karters in 2021, ranging from driver coaching and equipment recommendations to full service Arrive and Drive. And we’re pumped that AEM has committed to CKNA being their primary focus for 2021! “It’s a perfect fit.” said Mick. “CKNA is the premier series in 4-cycle racing and AEM is the premier team in 4-cycle racing.”
We talked through all the opportunities for AEM and CKNA to
help each other in 2021 and beyond. After looking at all the options, they
decided to go all in! AEM will be the Co-Presenting sponsor for the Cup Karts
North Division, as well as the Presenting Sponsors for the 2021 Spring
Nationals and Grand Nationals 5!
Team Manager Mike Gabriel said, “With CKNA’s top-notch officiating and tech it creates a very level playing field and enhances competition. The stability of the officiating and tech creates a great racing environment and we’re proud to be a CKNA sponsor!”
We’re pleased to welcome AEM Karting to the CKNA family!
