On Set of Rules Across The Entire USA? It May Be Becoming A Reality!

First off, we’d like to wish everybody reading this a Merry Christmas! Although it is a holiday, we wanted to let everybody in on some exciting news. We have been working for the last few months with different series and clubs around the country to try and align all of our groups to the same set of rules. For far too long, differences in rulebooks made it difficult for racers to travel to other regions. It was confusing to racers why things were different, and often far too costly to make their equipment compliant on top of the unavoidable costs of traveling to these new races. Because of the tremendous success of our 2015 rulebook, we are extremely proud to

206 Cup Announces It’s 2016 Schedule and Class Structure

2016 Race Schedule The wait is over. The Briggs and Stratton 206 Cup 2016 schedule has been released. As you will see, the 206 Cup is returning to 3 of the facilities that it visited last year. Dousman WI, Shawano WI and Norway IL will again host rounds of the 206 Cup in 2016. We are also excited to announce a brand new track to our series, Delmar IA’s 61 Kartway as well as our return to track that hosted the first ever 206 Cup race; Elkhart Lake’s Road America Motorplex. RIGP Champion Tony Neilson Gives Back To The 206 Racers!

Although we did not do a very good job of promoting it, the 206 Cup awarded each RIGP class winner in either a 206 class or the Margay Ignite Shootout free entry to our final round or racing in Shawano. What we didn’t expect was for one driver to sweep 4 of those 5 classes! Tony Neilson of 61 Kartway reached out to me today, and asked if he could donate his entry to a worthy competitor that might want to visit the epic track that is USAir Motorsports. Tony won’t be able to make the event himself, but wanted to help somebody else make the race. So, we will be giving away two entries for the entire weekend in

Letter to All 206 Cup Racers From Series Organizers

As we have now reached the mid-point in our 2015 season, we wanted to reach out directly to all of our racers in regards to things that have happened so far this year, both good and bad. In general we feel the first two events have been successful, but by no means perfect. As the second half of the series is only a few weeks away, we have identified some things that we want to adjust, clarify or restate to continue to improve on the racing as a whole. Rough Driving / Contact on the race track: First and foremost, I would like to discuss contact during races. For the most part, racing has been very good and drivers have

You Asked, We Delivered! A New Format For The Remaining 206 Cup Season!

There are many formats that have been used for kart racing over the years. We initially choose the traditional “Moto” format, as we felt it best fit the type of racing we wanted to foster. We wanted our winners no only to be fast drivers, but also somebody capable of passing. And although we still feel the “Moto” format is the best suited for club style racing, this is not a club. It is a competitive karting series that club racers can afford. After bouncing ideas off of many other series organizers in karting as well as other forms of motorsport, we have designed our own racing format that we think provides the best fit to our series. 206 Cup/CES Challenge

About a month ago, CES organizer Dave Larson reached out to us. Although the main purpose for the phone call was to compare notes on rules to make sure racers from CES could join the fun of 206 Cup, it got the ball rolling on the idea of the 206 Cup / CES Challenge. As both series unintentionally had non conflicting schedules, it seemed possible. Already having a good following of Animal Racers, CES hopes to gain interest from racers using the 206 engine. 206 Cup hopes that some of the Animal racers that traditionally only run long track events will come and try their hand at sprint racing. Once Briggs got wind of our discussions, things started to happen
