New Racers Get Paid to Race at Camden, Ohio!

One of the things that makes running this series so great is the people we meet who share our love of karting and want to do whatever they can do help it grow. 206 CUP’S NEW MANUFACTURES CHAMPIONSHIP AND CONTINGENCY!

In an effort to help grow the younger ranks in our series as well as clubs throughout the region, we have decided to add Briggs Kid Kart to the series for the 2017 season. To be honest, this is a fast moving plan. The details are not all worked out yet, but here is what we know for sure. We will follow traditional Briggs Kid Kart rules and all drivers will be on Vega VAH tires. We will announce a minimum weight in the coming days. Our intention is to treat this just like any other points class. For sure, we plan to offer the class at Road America and Badger Kart Club, as they have a good following already

LETTER FROM SERIES OWNERS REGARDING 206 CUP’S EXPANSION FEATURING A NEW DIVISIONAL/NATIONAL FORMAT FOR 2017

WE FOUND ANOTHER WAY TO GIVE THE RACERS BACK SOME MONEY! In 2015, we kept track of a manufactures points standings, ranking each chassis manufacture by their best two finishes at each event throughout all classes. We thought it was a fun thing to do, and some of the racers enjoyed trying to increase their chassis ranking by helping out other racers on like chassis. In 2016, we stopped tracking of these points, and to our surprise the racers were disappointed. We did not realize how many people were watching! So we are bringing back the Manufactures Championship for 2017, with a bonus to the racers. If a racer wins for the day on a chassis that is apart of

Welcome Glen Firing As The New Race Director for 2016

One of the most important parts of running a successful karting event is having a great staff. Although we are extremely pleased with all of our crew from the 2015 season, we felt we needed to step up our game even more. One of our main priorities for ourselves before 2016 was to add even more experience to our crew, specifically an experienced Race Director. Although we talked to as many people as we could, we always had one specific person in mind for the job, Glenn Firing. Both through personal experience and professional references; we knew he had the integrity and sense of fairness we wanted our race director to have. I am happy to say that he has

NEW CLASS ADDED WITH CASH PURSE FOR FINAL ROUND OF 2016

Dear Karters, First off, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our Competitors, Sponsors and race day staffers for their support in 2016. We had record numbers all season long, and held arguably the most competitive 206 series in the country! It has meant a great deal to Steve and Myself that our little idea from a few years ago has been so well received by all of you, and our success would not have been possible without each and every one of you. Although we have been relatively silent since the conclusion of our 2016 season, the work behind the scenes planning for 2017 has been well underway since this past July. We knew what we wanted

The final event of the season is only a few weeks away, and we want to go out with a bang. Special Announcement for Animal Racers!

Even though our series in centered around the 206 classes, the Animal racers are equally important. The Briggs Animal classes provide great racing and a potential “next step” for the 206 driver that wants some more speed. With that in mind, we have been talking with key players in the Animal racing world to try and bolster our numbers in the class. First off, our Animal classes will only race for championship points at three of our events this season. Road America in Elkhart Lake, CHMS in Norway and USAir in Shawano will be the only races that the Animal classes will be scored. As this reduces the number of points days that are available, there will be no drops

The 2016 Rules Have Been Released!

A new year rings in today, and so does the latest version of the 206 Cup rules! There were some significant changes made to the rule book for the 2016 season. Along side the new class structures that were announced a few weeks ago, notable changes have been made in regards to event formatting, tires, and bodywork. All events in the 2016 season will follow a new format. We have developed a new format that adds a qualifying round to the start of each race day.
